I have always drawn faces. even as a child. I remember I used to sketch random pages on all the margins of my school books, so much so that I was told off by my teachers for vandalising! I never knew why I drew the faces, but the moment I had a pencil or pen, I felt compelled to draw.
Throughout the development of my mediumship, I would draw faces, and even in my art, I would depict faces of people I could not explain. I wasn’t aware of Spirit Portraits at this point.
In 2015, I had an incident on holiday in Egypt where I had a chest contusion. That night, unable to sleep and in extreme pain, I had a visitation from a holy man called Joram who had passed centuries ago. I sketched his face on some paper and wrote down what had transpired. He helped me open up to my next creative level: spirit portraits. I was guided to attend a spirit art course at AFC under renowned spirit artist Lynn Corttrell to fine-tune my knowledge of spirit art. I was amazed by the end of the week at how accurate some of my drawings were. I was finally able to connect faces with messages from the Spirit I had drawn.
Since then, I have been able to draw the faces of guides and loved ones in spirit. I am also developing animal portraits, which is very exciting.
Now, about 11 years later, I am proud to be able to demonstrate Spirit Portraits at Spiritualist Churches and offer it as a private sitting as well. I have also been teaching Spirit Art and Portraits at churches and giving lessons for several years, both in the UK and internationally.
I am incredibly passionate and dedicated to sharing this beautiful aspect of Mediumship with a wider audience. I believe this is evidence of the Spirit world’s intelligence and adds depth to Spiritual connections.
There is nothing like seeing your loved one’s face slowly developing as a Medium brings their story forward.
At times, I have placeholders – spirits who come through to me when I am not doing a reading. They provide me with loads of information, but I can’t place them straight away. Sometimes, the spirit prepares the medium or the artist days, months, weeks, and years ahead. I keep all my drawings now, and I have a Facebook page you can join to keep updated on my drawings. You never know when someone you know will appear there! I never know who will appear on paper when I start drawing. I worked in an altered state, so my spirit artist guide steps forward to help me. Sometimes the spirit contact itself will guide me and give me direction. The evidence is provided as I work with them as well.
I know that I have come a long way from when I first started drawing faces; however, I feel this is a lifelong journey of learning and understanding this beautiful ability. My only intention is to give both my sitter and their loved ones a beautiful connection filled with love, hope, and healing.
