The Strawberry Moon

I have been asked by a few people to talk about the Strawberry Moon. Obviously it is not the name of a cocktail or a fancy bar in Soho. It’s the name given to the full moon that will appear on our possibly very cloudy skies tomorrow night.

The http://www.almanac.com/ is a great resource for information about among other things, the phases of the moon as well as the meaning of the names given to them.

June’s Full Strawberry Moon got its name because the Algonquin tribes knew it as a signal to gather ripening fruit. It was often known as the Full Rose Moon in Europe (where strawberries aren’t native).

There is also a video and a link to the full moon names for other months – http://www.almanac.com/content/full-moon-names.

When I was growing up in Malaysia, I used to be scared of full moons, especially the large red ones. Folklore passed on to my mother meant I associated bad luck or negative energy with full moons. I remember reading a book by an African author about how children were not allowed to go outside on full moon nights in case the devil came to catch them. I am sure there are tonnes of similar stories in difference cultures around the world. I’ve come to realise that they aren’t evil but there are strong emotions and changes associated with them. The more we understand, the more we can prepare for and deal with what is coming to us.

Did everyone remember the Solar Eclipse and the Justice Moon in April? I lost count of the number of people who were experiencing headaches and felt so low. My Facebook feed was full of people complaining of the same thing and I was too. I didn’t have a reasonable explanation for how I was feeling. Then closer to the date, I started having sleepless nights. My room would light up with little sparkly colours and energies which played a spectacular light show for me the whole night. It was simply amazing and the synchronistic events that took place were stunning! After that the headaches went away and my energy levels shifted.

Now with the Strawberry or Red Moon, my lucid dreaming has intensified, connection to Spirit who I haven’t worked has got stronger and there have been some special events taking place lately which is just crazy special!

To be honest I felt the first six months of this year has been an emotional one. But we have been working hard at it and trying not to give up, putting the seeds in and waiting impatiently for things to happen. The shift is happening though and it’s really about us and how we feel, perceive other people and our tolerance for others. Elizabeth Peru who is the  Author of The Tip-Off Global Energy Forecast, summarised that “during the last week of May we went through a major vibrational upswing on Earth. Many of you had intense dreams, headaches, astral travel experiences, wake-up calls, relationship breakdowns, sore bodies, sluggishness and a deep need to slow down and sleep”.

She has a very clear and strong message for us all –  “Do not be afraid. What may seem like a risk in June is your potential calling to you. Will you rise to your own challenge? Wise words and so on point Ms Peru.

I know that some of you have been going through a huge change and have even started out on your own. This has meant a lot of late nights, worrying, planning and making sacrifices to make things happen. You will start to see results and there will be some positive attention given to you.

2015 is about taking risks and making things happen – relationships, career or self-employment. This moon is here to help you focus and give you more positive news.

I can relate to this so well. I had some challenges to overcome and my energy levels took a blow a few months back but I kept at it! I believe in myself and I have learned to prioritise and surround myself with positivity. I have been attracting wonderful people in my life and the partnerships formed will be something to look forward to. I can now see that things are falling into place now and have got plenty of guidance about my next steps.

So what can you do to increase the positivity tonight? Charge and retune your crystals with the moonlight! There are several different ways to charge them and some say you should immerse them in cool boiled or spring water but you can also just put them on a tray or something clean. You can either put them outside or on your window sill.

The next thing to do is to write down your intention list – thing you WANT e.g improved finances, a new house, a baby, a promotion etc. Don’t put anything negative! Also be positive when you do all of this as your energy will be stored in the paper and the crystals!

You can leave them on a scared space with your crystals (when not charging) or burn them the night before the full moon.

Hope this has been enlightening. Don’t forget to subscribe to the blog and LIKE my Facebook page  so we can keep in touch.

Good luck and may you be blessed with love & light
