Five Powerful Ways to Start 2020

Before you dismiss 2019 as a bad year – STOP and reflect on what happened over the past 12 months. Analyse every difficult situation to understand the learning lesson, how it pushed you to make changes. You see, if we dismiss each year like most do at the start of a new year, we miss out on vital knowledge that we need to react, do things and approach things differently.

The more we can analyse the challenges in the past, then the trends, patterns and learning points will be clear. You also start to see how you have grown over the year.

For example if you were forced to end a relationship with a friend or family member then once your have gone past the pain and negativity, you will find something in that situation that you can take forward.

Did you stand up for yourself? Did you realise that you shouldn’t have meddled in a situation? Did you feel better afterwards?

For example if the relationship ended because of your temper then you need to work on that in the new year.  Facing the facts will ensure you have the right tools in 2020.

Or perhaps you felt like a victim? The question is why? Was it the other person? What could you have done to change things?  Then it’s time to let go.

We have to be conscious of our actions and situations to be able to learn from them and do things differently.

There this is phrase that is used to death at this time of the year – New Year, New You. Well a change of dates doesn’t automatically bring about a new you!

Most of us drag our existing self along with the baggage and issues, into the new year but losing the baggage or changing its contents,  reassessing the route and tweaking the journey along the way will help you lead a lighter and happier 2020.

A lot of us set ourselves for failure at the start of the year as we feel the new dates will magically conjure up a totally new life and experience but then get upset as it feels the same the year before.

A more realistic and reflective attitude sets your expectations low and when things do turn for the better then you can rejoice at the achievements.

There are plenty of things to do to prepare energetically for the New Year.

Here are my top 5 tips:

  1. De-clutter and clean the house. Get rid of rubbish, wipe down the window sills, mop the floors, change the bedding, and vacuum the house. Do this ON or BEFORE December 31st . Do not do this on Jan 1st!  Do not clean or wash clothes on Jan 1st. It is believed that you will wash away your good luck if you do! Energy wise, it is good to clean and de-clutter as it changes the energy in the house and makes space for new things as well as luck.
  2. Sage the house -Keep your thoughts positive, switch off the phone and focus on the ritual. Use good quality sage to smudge the house.  Put it in an unused heat proof bowl and place it on a tray with a lighter and a feather. Stand near your front door, close your eyes ask Archangel Michael to ground and protect you. Ask him to surround you with his healing light. Start smudging the front door using the feather to push the smoke to the area, and then walk around the house, letting the sage smoke touch every window, door, electrical product, pillows, bed  and things such as phones, laptops and tablets. End your ritual by going back to the door, facing north and send out a prayer asking for a positive and happy for you and your family. 
  3. On Jan 1st evening – sit quietly or do this with the family even with the kids. Put some paper and pen around the table. Put some nice relaxing music. Here is my suggested list. Close your eyes and breath in and out a few times until you feel the body relax. Allow yourself to let go. Let your mind drift along with the music.  Open your eyes when you are ready. Pick up the paper and start writing the things you NEED in 2020. E.g. – A new house, a relationship, a new job, a better boss, husband or girlfriend to be more understanding, more money, a new car etc. Put this into an envelope and put it somewhere visible. Write “Intentions 2020”  Put this in your Full Moon fire on Jan 10.
  4. Balance: It is important to cleanse and balance the body as well as the home.   5. On Jan 1st – as a final cleansing, mix in a tiny bit of turmeric powder in a cup of water. Use an unused cup or tumbler. Don’t use too much turmeric as it stains so you want very little. Close your eyes and breathe in and out before you start. Think of Archangel Michael or any God of your faith. I always think of Michael as well as Goddess Lakshmi the God of Prosperity. Say in your mind “(insert name) please bless this house and all of us with good health, prosperity and happiness in 2020”. Start at the front of the house and work your way through the house from top to bottom. Take a leaf and dip into the water and sprinkle the corners of each room. Go back to the front of the house and pour out any leftover water on the front garden.

I really hope you follow my suggested rituals above as it will truly change the energy for 2020 and bring you a lot of new changes that will enhance your life. Most importantly do it with a positive mind and focus on what you need in your life. The Universe has your back! Just give it a chance.

Release the Ego to see/feel better. The Ego Trap is when we only want to see what we want to see. We only want to hear what we want to hear. Freedom to see the whole picture is what pushed us forward not back. We don’t need anyone to tell us what are faults or limitations are but the ego trips us up in a state of denial or worse, the “I know better” . Facing our dark side is not failure or admitting weakness. In fact people respect people who can acknowledge that they in fact don’t know something but willing to learn more about it. I see a lot of things in spiritual world. Some will never want to admit they aren’t familiar with a particular aspect of spiritual work in fear that clients or followers won’t see them as a subject matter expert. The ego will push people to attempt to “know” something they don’t and often it shows  though the assertive language and vague messaging. It is better to let go of the need to a human Google and show a touch of vulnerability because we are only human and can’t “know” everything. I know because I tried to when I first started off and now I am happy to admit I don’t know things! Don’t mean I am not a good medium if I don’t know about Fairy energy for example! Image result for ego trap

This is important because the less Ego comes into play, the more we grow and transform. If we don’t release then we have no space for anything else. Therefore everything remains the same. How can change occur if there is no space for transformation? Yet many of us will complain that nothing is changing. It can only change if we shift our perspective and energy.

 Some people, often the ones most affected by the Full moon energy would have experienced digestive problems these last two weeks. This suggests inner turmoil and a build up of resentment. The body protests against the mind. Toxins have two layers – the physical and the spiritual layer. The toxins in our physical layer remains in the blood stream and organs. The other clogs up our spiritual layer which can then form patterns or cycles of self sabotage and blocks in our ability to manifest and live our lives. Both need to be released and rejuvenated. When you consciously release your old limiting believes and inner darkness, then the body relaxes and detoxifies naturally. If you have had issues with diarrhoea these last two weeks then your body is already starting the “let go” process so now the mind needs to follow suit. 

The more you hold in the bad stuff then the hard it gets for the good stuff to get to you. So if you have had constipation the last two weeks then your spiritual layer has been struggling and clogged. Your body is showing you how it feels and wants a deep release (no puns intended!). 

Finding the light in the darkness helps us stay positive and bring in good things. If you refuse to find the light they you will stay in the darkness. This Full Moon is all about choices – stay in the dark or find the light.

Release stubbornness, the need to be “right” and find the happiness from within. With a strong Pisces hold on Virgo, the Full Moon asks you to release your fear of change and to embrace freedom and to be more flexible.

May’s Super “New Moon” Message: We Are Only Human Afterall

I suppose we are all guilty of being hard on ourselves at some point in our life. Some of us are quick to overlook certain aspects of other people’s personality or habits but harsh on our own ability or weaknesses. There are times where this becomes overpowering and soul destroying. There are so many of us who go to extremes because we don’t feel “good enough” or unable to cope because we put such high expectations on ourselves. Why is the reason for this? Society, peer pressure or upbringing? I am sure it differs from one person to the other. 

I was reminded of this, recently when I jumped into a taxi on my way to the monthly development circle. The taxi man was a young Asian guy who had Rag & Bone man’s song, Human playing in the background. I don’t always chat to taxi drivers unless they start the conversation, mainly because I am usually wrapped up in my own thoughts. I have always used time in taxis as thinking time. This stems from my time as a journalist in Malaysia where I would formulate my story in my head and go through my notes on my way to the newsdesk. 

However this time, I really had the urge to speak to this young man. It was as if someone wanted me to speak to him. So I said “Is that Rag ‘n’ Bone man? Knowing fully well it was. He said “Oh who is that….you mean the song? Yes, I said and we got into a conversation about the meaning of the song.

It became clear to me during our short conversation that this was a message he needed to hear  – that he shouldn’t be too hard on himself and he can’t please everyone. There was a vulnerability about him and who knows, this pressure on his shoulders could have led to emotional strain. We were laughing as the taxi pulled up at the venue and said our goodbyes. He was smiling and grinning from ear to ear, and so was I. 

I shared this moment with the circle members and it was funny how the theme repeated itself throughout the meditation and inspired speaking. 

As one of them said during inspired speaking …tick tock….. you can move forward not back in time. So don’t feel guilty for what has been but move into the future because there is no going back.

Today as I said down to write this guidance, the song that came up on my playlist was Human. I felt that my guide, an old Indian sage popped it into my head so I could write about this today.

The song came out of a conversation Rory Graham (Rag ‘n’ Bones man) had with a friend. Graham explained to NME in a video interview: “You know, people generally moan quite a lot about stuff that isn’t very important and it was like, if you took a little step back from yourself and stopped being selfish and just look around at what’s going on in other people’s lives and you soon realise that it’s just inconsequential; your problem isn’t really a problem anymore.”

So my dear friends, be clear about what you actually want in life, what is important and prioritise. We can sometimes go through life being upset by small things but overlook the things you ought to be worried about. Use this time to filter through your worries and reassess what you want so your next steps will be clear. Remember, we are “only human after all” with flaws and totally imperfect. That is the beauty of our existence. Every day we live is a learning lesson and a step forward. 

So what is a supermoon? According to Wiki – a supermoon is the coincidence of a full moon or a new moon with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the lunar disk as seen from Earth. From a spiritual and energy context, it is a time when energy is magnified. Some bring transformation that can be life changing and others, brings things up to the surface which may be difficult to deal with.

We are going to feel a little sandwiched and caught in the middle emotionally and energy. There is a good reason for it as there is another super “new moon” in June. So there will be things popping up this week, good or bad which will be released or completed in June’s super “new moon” on the 24th.

We will get clarity on June 9th’s full “Micro” moon and it intensity will ease off. How do you survive the energy until then? 

You will be prodded and buttons will be pushed. This is a very transformational time so even if things are a little up in the air, trust that it is happening for your highest good. Pay attention to what is happening around you and what is the universe trying to say to you?

Our soul knows what is ahead and will guide us to where we need to be. Each and everyone of us have a blueprint of our very existence which is accessed by our soul and our creators. Every step we take makes one part of the puzzle fall into place. It is frustrating but the mysteries of life and death is determined by the laws of Spirit, which we don’t full understand.

Just to summarise, enjoy the here and now, look beyond the pettiness of life because there is a bigger picture for us to enjoy. Stand firm in your convictions, don’t feel you need to over stretch yourself to please people and look after yourself. When you are drained and depleted, there is no way you can help anyone. 

Most importantly say yes to the right things – opportunities, ideas and projects.

Top 5 things to do to navigate through this intense energy 

These last couple of weeks have been intense for many people. We have been caught between the lunar eclipse which was near the last full moon on Feb 11 and the solar eclipse on February 26th. The eclipses magnify the energy but they also bring about stormy conditions. Much like Doris which is causing havoc in the UK right now. In every situation, we have a choice – to ride it or let it take over us. Most of us have been experiencing extra vivid dreams, some of which don’t make sense but it can also be signals from your subconscious mind giving you clues as to things you need to release or deal with in order to move forward. Remember whatever we try to hide underneath the carpet, has to be cleaned up at some point!  This can be anything from an emotion to maybe a disagreement to signing papers. These are the things that are holding you back and needs to be reviewed. It may feel challenging now but like the storm, once the sunshine shines through the dark clouds, you will feel much better.

Ideas and new themes will be abundant so keep paper and pen handy at all times. I remember saying this in a post recently and I reiterate – keep your eyes and ears open. 

The very structure of our DNA and physical layer is being upgraded,that we are being pushed to get rid of the baggage that has been like cords, attached and pulling us back into the past. This is why it is important to pay attention and record down dreams and thoughts that might drop into your mind.

Your brain and crown chakra’s energy will be boosted during this upgrade. This is also why people are waking up with headaches as you need to hydrate! Energy is being used up. Fuzzy head, flu like symptoms and general tiredness will be common until next week.

The eclipse season is here to highlight the baggage, magnify it to the point you MUST face it, and transform. Be grateful for this opportunity to “let go” and improve. You are also being asked to change your perception of people and situations. The reason for this will be clearer in the coming months. The more you try to suppress it, the bigger it becomes and then you will feel like drowning.

I don’t know about you but I have been having a lot of “AHA” moments. That moment of clarity of all the dots joined up together is priceless. Most of us have been grappling with huge challenges recently with nothing being clear causing confusion and stress. Trust that the universe has your back but trust yourself even more. 

I do feel that many of us will feel like one hand takes and the other gives. Something difficult will fall into your lap one moment and just as we give up hope, something nice happens. This year is about balance and the universe will try to strike a balance in every way possible. There is never going to be a perfect year, just like we are not perfect ourselves but there will be little things to outweigh the bad.

How do you take advantage of this energy?

  1. Keep paper and pen handy, especially at the bedside. Write down whatever message you hear when you open your eyes, Try to remember what you saw/heard/felt in your dreams. Date it and add the time you woke up. There may even be a message int the time you wake up – for example 05:55 is an Angel number indicating major life changes and that you are making the right choices. 
  2. Hydrate – drink the recommended amount of water each day as your body needs it right now
  3. Pay attention to the people coming to your life right now. Are they from the past – that you need to heal the relationship to move on? Are people being sent to you to bring up old emotions or issues that you thought you have overcome? 
  4. Meditate – the best and simplest way to focus, relax and listen to your own soul! I have a selection of meditation music that may help.
  5. Prepare for the New Moon – do my moon ritual which is free and easy to do. This is my gift for you and anyone else who needs it. Smudge the house to clear the energy, cleanse your crystals to energise them and write your lists.

The New Moon on July 19th: Bold decisions and Balance

You would have seen the bright, sparkly and powerful moon last night if you looked up at the sky. The light radiating from it was strong, vibrant and crystal clear. I felt a sense of calm and also hope reach me through the air and into my body.

For most of us, the dust is just settling and we are making sense of the aftermath of events that occurred  the last full moon. There is more clarity coming our way and with the male energy that comes with it, the new moon will empower us to be more assertive. So don’t be surprised if you find yourself making bold decisions and walking just a little more taller than normal. The energy of this past year has been building your confidence and now is the time to shine.

Put your best feet forward and make plans. Believe that it will happen and trust yourself to take the appropriate actions to realise it. You will also feel your sacral chakra more active than normal.  Your Sacral chakra is in your lower abdomen, just below your naval. This is your second chakra and an important one as it controls the flow of energy and is essentially your “core”.  Each chakra has its dowsacral-chakran special sound and we are lucky that the pioneers of yoga and meditation in India have made so much information available for us in this generation to tap into. Here is a fantastic free sacral chakra VAM chant meditation. My favourite person DhyaanGuru Dr. Nipun Aggarwal who shares so much freely on the Internet, with the intention of helping people, explains it and chants it perfectly. Please set aside some time this week to sit in meditation.

Meditating to clear and and balance your Sacral Chakra 

Create a sacred space by burning incense, light a candle or if you have one, a Himalayan Salt lamp or tea light. Try to do this when you are alone and can be undisturbed for at least 15 – 30mins. The best way to really feel this mantra is to listen to it on your earphones as you can really connect with vibration of the chant. Place a crystal in your dominant hand. The best crystals to meditate to energise your sacral chakra is  amber, carnelian, citrine or orange calcite but if you don’t have any of those mentioned, just pick one that is orange or golden in colour.  Cleanse it first by smudging it or with some incense. You will be thirsty when you finish the meditation so keep a glass of water next to you. Watch out for subtle messages or signs in your dreams that night. Always keep a notebook next to your bed so you can write it all down when you wake up.

Trust me, this is powerful, amazing and beautiful! If you have sudden urges to empty your bladder then do not fear as your body is cleansing and releasing. Please ensure you drink plenty of water. Lemon water in the mornings is great for the digestive system and for health. Obviously take care if its a symptom of a medical condition and check with your doctor if it continues for more than a week. This chakra is important for your brain’s well being in a way. It helps you with your ideas, starting new projects and also with creative endeavours. It also helps you balance your emotions and encourages healthy relationships with people around you.  sage
