Ten Steps to Start 2018 Positively

The energy, like the stress levels rises up and down at this time of the year. We go through the stress, the happy phase and then a dip into the depression of everything being over so quickly. Before we can take a deep breath, 2018 is around the corner and then another stress pike hits us. Then the general deflation of going back to work and dealing with the endless advertising for gym memberships and diet deals slam dunk us into another vicious cycle of the blues. Image result for 2018

We do this every year and yet we start off the year with this brilliant hang over energy hoping to forget the year that has been and put all our eggs into the new year which is like telling a new starter in a company that they are to be this or that. Imagine the pressure of living up to people’s expectations!

The thing is, the New Year is LIFE. There are some things is in your control and others, that are not. You cannot control who will die, who will have a terminal illness, how your company is run and how that will affect your employment nor can you stop yourself from feeling unhappy.

You can however try to be kind to yourself so that will start a circle of good things around you, deal with situations better, go see the doctor if you feel ill and prevent a bigger illness, take care of yourself, attract the right people, and do more of happy. You can stop going into one relationship to the other, you can set aside time to study or improve your skills, spend time with people you love, plan things and be in control of what you can achieve in your life.

Start of 2018 in a more positive way. Here is a list of things you can put into practice before or on the first week of the New Year. You will need a new note book or a sheet of paper for some of the ideas below.

1. Learn from the Bad stuff

The problem with wishing away the year is that we miss out on the lessons or the positives that could push us forward in 2018. There are so many good things that have happened, bad stuff also have good things in them and lessons to be learned. Remember in the darkness there is always light, we just have to find it. What did you learn from that experience? Did you find that you were a lot stronger than you thought? Were you able to stand up for yourself in a positive away? Draw two columns in a note book or sheet. Mark one, “Situation” and the other “Lessons”. You can also add another two column to indicate date/time and another for “Positive/Negative”. Now write down as clearly and succinctly as possible what happened and the in lessons, think of how you overcame, reacted or learned from the situation. There is no right or wrong answers, this is about YOU and how it affected you. If you decided on the positive/negative then indicate what the outcome for you was. You can list as many or as little as you want. Once you have finished, take a look, read through and see how your words make you feel and look at how many positives or negatives occurred. This is a great exercise as if you encounter similar or recurring situations in 2018. You can go back and see the pattern forming and you will have another revelation or learning to uncover. 2. Letting Go – This is simply to put on paper, the things you feel you need to “let go” off – emotions, attitudes or habits that you feel stops you from going forward

3. Spring clean – start the New Year with a clean slate. Decluttering the house can be the start of the clearing of the mind. Get rid of the things you don’t need. Do this in a mindful way so that you are not thinking of anything other than what you are doing in the moment. Give away or throw but get the house in order. This helps to get your own mind in order and focused.

4. Gratitude Jar – this is a good time to open your jar and start reading the good stuff that happened over the year. If you don’t have one, then start a new one for 2018. Get an old large jar and decorate it as you will. Write down your day or week’s highlight into the jar as often as you can. Open up and read around this time next year.

5. Friends & Family – write down a list of people you would like to spend more time with in 2018. This is even people you are no longer speaking to or haven’t been in touch with. Put down an activity or even a place you would like to be with them, next to their name. Make it a realistic list and an activity. Go back later this year to reflect on how you can make it happen or be surprised at who calls or messages you in the year. Write down another list of people who make you feel bad or guilty. Let this list serve you when you encounter the same patterns the coming year. You have choices and options. Never feel that you MUST or NEED to spend time with anyone who makes you feel bad.

6. Write down five things you want to see happen in 2018. This is about YOU so leave out your children, partner or friends. Just about what you want and need.

7. What do you want to transform this year? Is there a part of you that needs transformation? If there is ONE thing that the Universe could do for you, what would that be? Emotion, relationship, career, health, mental clarity, money….etc

It makes my body relax but also create a very beautiful space around me. Create a space and time for yourself so you won’t be disturbed. Leave your notebook or a sheet of paper next to you with a pen.You can do this for 10mins or an hour, totally up to you. Make yourself comfortable and put on the music. Close your eyes and breathe in and out a few times until you feel your body relaxing. Focus only on the chant and let your mind drift to the words. Now set an intention to relax and to feel positive. Write down any thoughts, ideas or words that come to you when you open your eyes. Read through later and think of what it means to you.

9. New Year Smudging & Energy Clearance

Clear the energy by smudging the house with sage. Try not to be distracted and try to keep positive. When you get back where you started, put your palms together and welcome Lakshmi to your house. November’s New Moon – New Beginnings minus the “junk”

These last few weeks since the Beaver Moon on Nov 5th has been challenging for most. In my free guidance earlier this month, I spoke about  Force Majeure which is about superior force or something out of our control. How many us faced situations not unlike a tornado with spiralled out of our control? I know I had one where I felt I was caught in the middle of the eye. I was put under considerable stress and prodded to breaking point. Luckily self control and diplomacy helped but my goodness, it was intense. One of the main themes of the last full moon was “water” and this lead to very disruptive emotional state of mind and communication problems. 

Emotions were definitely running wild, within our minds as well with our relationship with others. Bear in mind that this year is all about transformation and change. This means that the change is triggered IN us so there is a domino effect in terms of how you get along with people, feel about them and even treat them. The change within will determine the rest. So yes, the next couple of months till February will be emotional and communication can break down if were are not careful.

The New Moon in Scorpio brings some stubbornness and determination. Don’t try to cut off your nose to spite the face in trying to “stand your ground”. Consider your options and listen to what people are saying before you react. There may be some truth in it or learning lessons so don’t dismiss everything as a negative.

Scorpios are generally very passionate, focused and want to know more. New Moons are the start of a new cycle and a fresh start to old problems. So think of what you are passionate about and how you can change your focus, to make it work for  you. A change in perspective brings new solutions that were otherwise hidden by our one dimensional outlook. 

This New Moon encourages us to “declutter” in more ways than one. How many of you have been feeling like you need to downsize or declutter the home? You may be looking at reviewing your friends list to see who has been “naughty or nice”. 

Imagine you want to climb Mt Everest but have a big trolley bag with you instead of a bagpack. You have the wrong luggage and too much of the wrong things with you, weighting and slowing you down. The moment you stop being stubborn and throw out the stuff you don’t need and only take with you in a smaller bag, what will be useful, will you succeed in your journey. As difficult it was to let go and get rid of the “stuff”, which are familiar and what you thought you needed, it felt good to have less.

Now imagine that the stuff you threw away were negative emotions such as procrastination, self sabotage, anger, addiction to food or substance or even people, stubbornness, laziness, passiveness or even defeatist attitude, or people – those who bring you down, encourage you to stay in your comfortzone, those who push your buttons, those who tell you what you “want” to hear, then your load will be much lighter. The universe can’t help you manifest the life or the things you want if nothing changes in how you live your life. It can push you into the right direction but you need to be in the right mind set to see the opportunity and to accept it. Nothing will change until we get rid of the “junk” in our lives, freeing up space for new ideas, people and emotions.

 

How to help the Universe help you?

  1. Write your intentions list – put down all the things you want to let go off. Be realistic and don’t try to hide from yourself. Put down exactly what frustrates you about you. Why do you think some of the situations occurred in your life? Be honest and stop blaming others. Put it down on paper and let yourself free. Take it out on Saturday evening and face the night sky and feel the energy of Mother Moon. Speak to her in your mind and go through some of the negative situations caused by your own limitations. Tell her that you are ready to let go. Say this three times – “I let go, I let go, I am ready to let go” Burn the list in a safe place and ensure the flames are out before you enter the house.
  2. Smudge the house using Frankincense or White Californian sage. For detailed instructions read my free guidance
  3. Cleanse your crystals – You can either drop your crystals in a bowl of filtered/cooled boiled water with some selenite to self cleanse or leave it outside to be fully energised and cleansed by moon energy. Use the water the next day to water your plants. 
  4. Declutter  – the house. Get rid of things you really don’t need. Create space for yourself in the house. Giving things away can be therapeutic. Put pen to paper to see who has been creating most of the drama in your life recently and ask yourself if you need to step away from them for a while?

November’s Frost Full Moon Guidance

I am a lucid dreamer and I also receive messages through my dreams. I often find myself in very immersive dreams speaking to my guides or father, waking up with guidance that I share here or personal ones which give me clarity on a situation.
 
I keep a dream journal next to my bed and I write down what I remember. It has been very useful as very often it makes absolute sense either for the day or even weeks later. Writing it down means you can track patterns emerging, feedback on outcome and understand how each message resonates with your life. It builds trust between yourself and your subconscious as well as your Spirit helpers.
 
This morning I woke up with the words ” Force Majeure” imprinted on my mind. I wrote it down but it seems to wash heavily over my physical and spiritual body.
 
Force Majeure is Latin for “chance occurrence, unavoidable accident” or “superior force” and often used on legal contracts. According to Wikipedia “is a common clause in contracts that essentially frees both parties from liability or obligation when an extraordinary event or circumstance beyond the control of the parties, such as a war, strike, riot, crime, or an event described by the legal term act of God (hurricane, flood, earthquake, volcanic eruption, etc.), prevents one or both parties from fulfilling their obligations under the contract. In practice, most force majeure clauses do not excuse a party’s non-performance entirely, but only suspend it for the duration of the force majeure.”
 
So I have been sitting here today reflecting on this message and what it means for me and, perhaps for us in general. It resonated firstly with what has happened in the last two days at home. On Monday the vacuum cleaned died, which wasn’t a huge surprise as it was on its last legs as it were. Although it is an expense we don’t need right now, it also means we will be getting a new, more dynamic cleaner that wasn’t such a chore to lug around.  Coincidentally, my new laptop had a serious systems failure which I found out was due to an Windows update that encrypted some files when the system was unable to (or says my IT expert husband). It was an expense laptop so I was very upset to think that it was completely fried and I would need to buy a new one. 
 
I was panicking inside but I decided not to ruin dinner time and went to play badminton with friends. I had a great time but I was worried. I got my husband to take a look at the laptop afterwards and with a little research, he managed to fix the problem without losing any of my files or data.
 
I went to bed thinking of this and wondering if there was some sort of energy flare that is hitting us hard, causing  electrical faults to come to light. The message this morning was related to my thoughts and general question to the universe. The answer was Force Majeure, meaning there is a superior force at work. A burst of energy surrounding earth can cause disruptions especially close to the Full Moon. People often find electrical items breaking down or trouble with cars or machinery coming to light at this time. Look at the photo of the moon I took last night at 8pm. There was an orange ring surrounding the moon, which I thought looked like the flame of the candle. This to me also strongly reminded me of Moon Energy which is a painting I created intuitively a few years ago after a deep meditation. 

 

This weekend’s full moon is called the “Frost Full Moon”  or sometimes the “Beaver Moon” which is dedicated to water and the coming of winter. Most of us have been questioning our own feelings – good and bad, our sense of direction and even relationships have been under scrutiny. At the heart of everything, is our relationship with ourselves and how we treat ourselves will reflect on all other aspects of our lives. The Frost Moon digs deeper on this subject and brings up a very emotional theme, from last month’s New Moon. Most of us have been running on auto pilot, not acknowledging our feelings or wants, just letting life go past us. Our soul purpose/mission will not allow that, in fact intervention is necessary to put us on our right course again. So ask yourself, what are you trying to suppress?  What are you failing to acknowledge? Are you failing to deal with your grief, let go of something or someone? Sit and reflect and the answers will come to you. Be true to yourself and see it for what it is. You may be feeling like you need to cry recently and you know what? Sometimes tears can really release pent up emotions and give you clarity.  As water based souls, full moons can be dehydrating so ensure you increase your intake of water.
Saturday’s full moon falls on a number “4” day which relates to practicality but also focus is emphasised on the home life which relates to the emotional theme that surrounds this moon. You are being asked to be practical and organised when dealing with things at home. Home life will take priority so if things change and you end up not doing what you were supposed to be doing, then just go with the flow. No use fighting something you have no control over.
The full moon is in Taurus this month which explains why we are all feeling a little tender and sensitive. Venus is also an influence at this time so romantic feelings and looking at the past with rose tinted glasses will be something we will be doing a lot of. Your subconscious will try to make you look at relationships clearly and for those who are sensitive, you will become acutely aware of where the negative energy comes from.
 
“4” is a number of chance so be prepared for things out of your control. Fighting it can only lead to frustration and resentment. This day also encourages you to create and shape your future so put your practicality and wisdom to work. It is also worth mentioning the “Force Majeure” again, as the water element popped into my mind as I am writing this. Water damage can be one of the issue we could be facing at this time. Either by natural forces of by something that has been an unknown issue but will come to light and cause some damage. If you know there is a problem around the house be proactive and not try to sweep it under the carpet, hoping it will go away. I do feel there may be problems with wind damage as well. Its not so clear to me right now but I can feel the sheer force of the wind around me. Interesting to see how it will play out. I think most of the storms around the UK at least have eased off a little so I do hope I am totally wrong as so many have suffered recently around the world.
 
 
 
So what is the theme for this month’s full moon? Deal with your emotions, be prepared for the unexpected and start beavering away to prepare for winter. Time to get productive and balance our emotions so it doesn’t get in the way of our dreams.

The New Moon & Navatri – Facing our Inner Darkness to see the Light

The New Moon is often over looked when one talks about Moon energy. The Full Moon is well known and pushed forward as the time to release and let go. Moon energy, is a cycle in every way possible and needs to be slowly introduced into our auras as it triggers growth and change. If you do it all at once then humanity will be overwhelmed and sanity will be questioned. Everything that falls into our space has to be done in stages and gently. Even with that amount of care, some of us can be so desensitised that we rarely understand the subtle signs until we are faced with it.

The emotions activated the week before and a few days after the New Moon are usually raw, and very much in line with our soul’s mission. Every one of us are “spirits” having a human experience, with a purpose. Unfortunately as more experience we clock up, we also tend to be conditioned to stray away from our original goals. We may have been told that were are “not good enough” to be something or someone. So we stop ourselves from even trying a skill or love. This creates an inner resistance because although your mind tells you what is NOT possible, your soul is determined to lead you to what IS possible. So until you face up to these clutter within, we will be going around in circles and living the same story, again and again.

So here is where the New Moon saunters in each month, stirring up old stories, clutter and dark matter that we try to suppress. Things will crop up, people will crash into your lives, events will occur out of your control – all forcing you to run around like a headless chicken. You will then see changes, action and solutions by the time the Full Moon comes in. 

The New Moon is like the bad cop and the Full Moon is the good cop! There are events astronomically as well as spiritually that align closely to either moon phases that accelerate and amplify the effects. 

This month’s new moon falls on Navratri which is the Hindu nine night festival that ends with the “the victory of good over evil” which then culminates with the festival of light – Diwali.

The Goddess Durga, is worshipped through offerings, dance and religious events during this festival. Each area in India and their respective communities have a different way of celebrating from different deities celebrated on each day, to types of prayers, music or dance to traditions. There are some huge injustices happening within our societies and indeed, the world right now. From human to natural forces, it doesn’t feel fair and suffering seems endless. It feels like everything has to fall apart, be completely broken in order for it to be rebuild and made complete. The guides tell me that there is a huge secret to be revealed or dislodged (perhaps something from underwater?)  and there is going to be big shift in world politics very soon. The strong will be weak and the weak will be strong.

New Moon & Navratri Significance 

Most of us fear the unknown. We also fear ourselves. Imagine standing in a room full of mirrors. Your image plastered all over, looking back at you with no where to run or hide. How many of us can say they would be 100% comfortable in that room? Not many I suspect. Shining the Image result for navratrilight within to see clearly, the things we have spend a lifetime trying to hide and hide from, can be a very emotional and upsetting. I know so many people who want a reading but are too scared because of what will come out. It is because they are terrified of the things they don’t want to face. When the light is shined on us, we have to take it warts and all. 

It is also believed that Goddess Durga was created by Lord Vishnu as a warrior goddess to protect the good people against the demon, Mahishasur. She is the combination of all the Gods energies and their power. The demon had declared that “no man” could ever kill him, which is why a female deity was created. Durga is the protector of the good, the women and children. She is justice and infinite. She is the light in the dark.  Durga is a Sanskrit word which literally translates into the one who eliminates sufferings. She is usually depicted with eight or 18 arms holding an object or tool in each hand, indicating that she is fully equipped and ready for battle.  Durga symbolises freedom from fear, justice, winning the battle, being alert and ready for anything. Durga Amma is worshipped for help with fertility issues, strength, endurance and positive outcomes. 

What to look for this week:

  1. Emotional – how are you feeling? Write down how you are feeling and then dig deeper – ask yourself why is this coming up now. What is bringing this up.  Are there changes to your mood? Being irritable and angry. Is there something within that you are not facing but driving you to react badly to situations? Stop and consider because when you react straight away then you have no chance of correcting yourself especially when it concerns other people. Tears will also be significant for some people as when you have been in a state of mind or situation for so long, it inevitably becomes your “comfort zone”. Make a conscious decision to “let go” and you will see everything soften and shape up nicely for October’s Full Moon.
  2. Physical Symptoms – as the shedding process get underway this week, our chakras will be activated and problem areas will be highlighted. For example if your throat chakra may cause you to clear your throat more often this week, and symptoms such as coughing and congestion in the throat encourage you to speak up, communicate your truth and not to feel suppressed.  If your stomach keeps churning this week (and not because of an existing medical issue) then you are being encouraged to let go of “confidence issues”. As the chakras work extra time this week, you will find yourself feeling very overheated and thirsty. Please drink lots of filtered water or lemon water. 
  3. Dreams – most of us have vivid dreams but don’t always pay attention to them. This week you will find yourself going through massive journeys during dream time. Watch out for the moment before you wake up because the messages and clues from your soul will be likely to be given right before you wake up. Pay attention to any lingering words, images or scenes you may be seeing or hearing in your mind the moment you start to wake up and just about to let go of sleep. For example I had a roller coaster of a lucid dream and the last thing I remember was drinking from an artisan bottled drink. It was one of those fancy combination homemade drinks like rhubarb and poached pears or something like that. The more I was waking up, the label started to look fuzzy but one word – “turmeric” got brighter and brighter on the label. I knew it was relevant as my grandmother was a healer and medicine woman. She used turmeric for everything and it was her way of telling me to consume some to help me with a health condition.
  4. What is happening around you – there will be lots happening. From people pushing your buttons to events completely out of your control. There are two reasons for this, one will test certain aspects of what you need to let go and the other is to push you out of your comfort zone. You will face these tests to either show you how far you have come, for example your reaction to someone may have changed compared to three months ago. The other will be to make you understand why you need to let go of a particular emotion or reaction. A situation will arise and you will regret how you behaved which will trigger the release. The moment you realise what it is you need to let go off, then the process will kick off within you. To let go, to change to evolve – we must WANT it. 

 Do these three things this week to help the universe help you:

  1. Mirror Work Meditation –  Take a moment anytime this week to do this powerful exercise. Find a comfortable and quiet place in the house where you won’t be disturbed. Have a notepad and pen next to you on the floor. Place a tabletop/vanity mirror on a table infront of you. Make sure you can see your full face in it. Take a few deep breaths with your eyes closed. Let the palms of your hands rest on your knee, facing up. Feel the sound waves go through your body from your root chakra to the top of your head and back down. Slowly open your eyes and look at yourself in the mirror. Look at the image in front of you. Don’t judge your flaws or imperfections, just look deep into the eyes, take in everything. Just be and look at yourself while you keep listening to the music. Let your body guide you. If you feel like you need to close your eyes, do it. Don’t analyse or try to control this moment with yourself. Write down anything that pops into your head. You can do this for 10mins or 30 mins or an hour. There is not min or max time for this. Go with the flow. Look at the words afterwards and ask yourself what it means and why it was given to you.

  3. Intentions – write down all the things you feel you need to let go of, including people in your lives who may be toxic, to be able to move forward. Be honest and be clear. Imagine that you have the ears of the powers that may be. This works if you believe and trust. Take it outside and burn it as you say in your mind “I let go, I let go, I let go of all the things I no longer need in my life” 

In summary, this is a time for justice, redemption and personal freedom. Things will fall into place, even if its not entirely clear how it will benefit you straightway. Some of us will begin this phase finding themselves trying to get “justice” as it feels like going up Mt Everest. Everything feels difficult and full of resistance but trust and put your positive foot forward because there is light in the darkness. It may not be everything that you want but it will be enough for you to move forward. This auspicious new moon will empower you to “follow your dreams” if you let her.

Top 5 things to do to navigate through this intense energy 

These last couple of weeks have been intense for many people. We have been caught between the lunar eclipse which was near the last full moon on Feb 11 and the solar eclipse on February 26th. The eclipses magnify the energy but they also bring about stormy conditions. Much like Doris which is causing havoc in the UK right now. In every situation, we have a choice – to ride it or let it take over us. Most of us have been experiencing extra vivid dreams, some of which don’t make sense but it can also be signals from your subconscious mind giving you clues as to things you need to release or deal with in order to move forward. Remember whatever we try to hide underneath the carpet, has to be cleaned up at some point!  This can be anything from an emotion to maybe a disagreement to signing papers. These are the things that are holding you back and needs to be reviewed. It may feel challenging now but like the storm, once the sunshine shines through the dark clouds, you will feel much better.

Ideas and new themes will be abundant so keep paper and pen handy at all times. I remember saying this in a post recently and I reiterate – keep your eyes and ears open. 

The very structure of our DNA and physical layer is being upgraded,that we are being pushed to get rid of the baggage that has been like cords, attached and pulling us back into the past. This is why it is important to pay attention and record down dreams and thoughts that might drop into your mind.

Your brain and crown chakra’s energy will be boosted during this upgrade. This is also why people are waking up with headaches as you need to hydrate! Energy is being used up. Fuzzy head, flu like symptoms and general tiredness will be common until next week.

The eclipse season is here to highlight the baggage, magnify it to the point you MUST face it, and transform. Be grateful for this opportunity to “let go” and improve. You are also being asked to change your perception of people and situations. The reason for this will be clearer in the coming months. The more you try to suppress it, the bigger it becomes and then you will feel like drowning.

I don’t know about you but I have been having a lot of “AHA” moments. That moment of clarity of all the dots joined up together is priceless. Most of us have been grappling with huge challenges recently with nothing being clear causing confusion and stress. Trust that the universe has your back but trust yourself even more. 

I do feel that many of us will feel like one hand takes and the other gives. Something difficult will fall into your lap one moment and just as we give up hope, something nice happens. This year is about balance and the universe will try to strike a balance in every way possible. There is never going to be a perfect year, just like we are not perfect ourselves but there will be little things to outweigh the bad.

How do you take advantage of this energy?

  1. Keep paper and pen handy, especially at the bedside. Write down whatever message you hear when you open your eyes, Try to remember what you saw/heard/felt in your dreams. Date it and add the time you woke up. There may even be a message int the time you wake up – for example 05:55 is an Angel number indicating major life changes and that you are making the right choices. 
  2. Hydrate – drink the recommended amount of water each day as your body needs it right now
  3. Pay attention to the people coming to your life right now. Are they from the past – that you need to heal the relationship to move on? Are people being sent to you to bring up old emotions or issues that you thought you have overcome? 
  4. Meditate – the best and simplest way to focus, relax and listen to your own soul! I have a selection of meditation music that may help.
  5. Prepare for the New Moon – do my moon ritual which is free and easy to do. This is my gift for you and anyone else who needs it. Smudge the house to clear the energy, cleanse your crystals to energise them and write your lists.
